EINDHOVEN – "I'm flabbergasted“ William Pijnenburg, general manager of AAE said yesterday, after receiving the BOV trophy presented by former Dutch finance minister and current ABN-AMRO executive, Gerrit Zalm.
In accordance with the jury findings, who considered three candidates for the BOV trophy in the Eindhoven region, the general manager of AAE was selected as having the Best Entrepreneurial Vision (BOV). AAE, located in Helmond, is active in the field of mechatronics and machine production. The jury praised William Pijnenburg for his human-centered management style and considers AAE a true example for the region. Yesterday, during a festive evening, the award was presented @"the Evoluon". The event was organized by the Regional Junior Chamber of Commerce "De Kempen".
Pijnenburg mentions that even as a Winner, “we do have a hard time in the current economic climate”. "You must be in a really optimistic mood to not see this". The jury chairman and director of the chamber of commerce in Brabant, Ben Pollmann, adds: "Our region has fallen on hard times indeed. The danger of companies failing and experts whom we urgently need in the future are lost is real. Therefore its important to take successful enterprises as an example and move them into the limelight”.
Additional words of praise for Pijnenburg of AAE. "An exemplary business our region can be proud of. AAE knows how to be different in the way it co-operates with customers and suppliers" according to the jury chairman. "Sales volume remains stable. An unusual performance in these difficult times. AAE clearly knows how to prepare for bad circumstances and this forces admiration." The jury also attached a cautionary note, though. "The company strongly dependents on the managing director, warranting attention”. It should also try to generate more sales abroad according to the jury.
Ari de Kimpe of Ariza in Helmond (biological condensed extracts and juices) and Pieter Knaapen of the Knaapen Group (renovation and maintenance) were the other two executives nominated for the BOV trophy 2009.
